History Vx Capital Partners was founded in March, 2002. The original partners were involved in the aircraft leasing and commercial finance industries prior to founding Vx. The Partnership's business plan called for it to acquire interests in commercial aircraft during what was then a severe recession in the aviation industry. The partners invested personal capital along with that of outside partners to close 20 separate transactions involving 40 aircraft over a four year period. Many of the assets were acquired at distressed prices. Most of the aircraft were leased to airlines in the process reorganization such as United, Delta and Northwest. Vx proceeded to restructure these leases and loans. The result was that most of the aircraft were retained by the original lessees thus avoiding expensive remarketing projects and aircraft downtime. In 2004 an industry recovery began which improved the fundamentals of the aircraft leasing and lending industries. Eventually, aircraft values improved and the Vx portfolio appreciated. Vx is now offering selected transactions for sale while continuing to make new investments in both the US and abroad.
